For our client, a world leader company in contamination monitoring technology, we are looking for:


This role combines responsibility for Accounting and Reporting and consolidated financial statements of the European offices. The individual will have up to 3 direct reports based in the Italian office and other people based in Belgium, Switzerland and Denmark.

Major tasks:

• Work alongside the Accounting Team in Italy/Belgium and Switzerland to perform regular monthly accounting, reporting and consolidation tasks. Meet clear and tight accounting deadlines for accounting, reconciliations and consolidation.
• Oversee the accounting close as well as regular monthly duties related to banking and establishing credit for customers in the Germany and Denmark offices.
• Regular presence in the Switzerland office to provide support to the operational team.
• Work closely and regularly with the Global Controller and be able to answer questions and requests within the required timeline.
• Point of contact and lead for all internal and external audits in Europe. Ensure that all audit preparation is on time and accurate.
• Responsible for local GAAP reporting as needed.
• Become an expert in Group’s accounting policies, approval procedures, business processes and ERP functionality.
• Responsible for development and maintenance of Internal Controls.
• Lead the European offices in major finance processes around Procure to Pay, Financial Accounting, Quote to Cash, Fixed Assets
• Responsible for ensuring that the Company meets Cash Cycle and Working Capital targets
• Responsible for LEAN methodology within Finance to create process and system efficiencies

Skills and experience:

• Accounting Degree required. CPA or CMA qualification preferred. IFRS practical knowledge is essential.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager position.
• Extremely strong accountant with ability to make decisions on accounting transactions without guidance. Audit background would be beneficial.
• ERP hands on knowledge is essential. IFS experience would be preferred but other ERP knowledge will be considered.
• A demonstrable track record of strong leadership and management of a Finance team with ability to help a team develop.
• Expert in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Microsoft Access skill would be beneficial.
• Experience within semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries also preferred.

Leadership and Personal Competencies:

• Will be a strong people manager but will also have the ability to play a key individual contributor role within the department. This is a hands-on Controller role.
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to travel internationally.
• Someone who can still learn, develop, and not only be open to but embrace change.
• Have the ability to ‘think out of the box’ in order to look for opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiencies within the finance organization.
